Manufacturing of the Porsche 911 Sally Special<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Being the first ever initiation by Porsche and Pixar to collaborate on a project, this project focused on producing the much-loved Porsche Sally Carrera for real. Pixar\u2019s film, Cars feature Sally Carrera in a pivotal role in between human sentiments like friendship, love, and mutual support. This inspired Porsche to team up with Pixar to create the model for the streets, give it up for auction to RM Sotheby\u2019s at its Monterey Sales, and contribute the earnings to two charity organizations, Girls Inc. and USA for UNHCR. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project began in 2021 with the Porsche manufacturing team collaborating with Pixar\u2019s original design team for the Cars movie, who created Sally Carrera based on the Porsche 911 Carrera twenty years ago and lasted for ten months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new color option, Sally Blue Metallic, was used as the vehicle\u2019s outer coating. Many of the changes were made by hand, focusing on intrinsic details, including Sally\u2019s pinstripe tattoo, to make it look like Pixar\u2019s Sally Carrera. The turbo wheels were explicitly redesigned for the Sally Special, with its five-spoke design modified to match the wheel diameter of the latest Porsche 911 wheels.
