How did the Porsche 911 Tackle Extreme Weather Conditions? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Surviving harsh weather conditions like 30 degrees below the freezing point with half the available oxygen level, Romain Dumas\u2019 team did a great job with their Porsche vehicles. They went 6000 meters up to the mountain with the specially engineered Porsche 911. Michael R\u00f6sler, head of the project, said that their aim was to shift the focus of the Porsche 911 from roads and tracks to the harshest possible environments and that they succeeded on the highest volcano in the world.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built with an excellent chassis featuring lightweight elements, including a short wheelbase, the vehicle gets higher power to cope with extremely high altitudes. Equipped with a standard turbocharged flat-six engine producing 443 horsepower paired with a seven-speed manual transmission, the 911 models also had carbon fiber seats, roll cages, and harnesses for safety requirements.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
