Racing ahead of the competition, the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS has officially been crowned the 2025 World Performance Car. This prestigious honor, awarded by the World Car Awards, marks the eighth time Porsche has taken home this title. Selected by a jury of 96 respected automotive journalists from 30 countries, the 911 Carrera GTS beat 17 performance-focused contenders to secure the top spot. The competition was fierce, but the Carrera GTS impressed voters with its dynamic engineering, hybrid performance, and legacy of motorsport-inspired excellence.

This setup includes a 3.6-liter flat-six engine, a small 1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, and two electric motors. One motor sits between the engine and transmission, while the other is mounted inside the single turbocharger. This smart hybrid configuration delivers 532 horsepower and lightning-quick response while adding only about 110 lbs. to the vehicle’s overall weight compared to its predecessor.
