Porsche Panoramic Roof with Variable Light Control

Porsche vehicles have always offered unique features in terms of style, interior, or technology. The latest Porsche vehicles have various interior functions to make your rides more convenient and enjoyable. One such feature is the optional panoramic roof that lets you get a beautiful sky view while traveling. It comes with variable light control technology to control the amount of light coming through the roof. Want to know how it works? Keep reading this article by Porsche of Colorado Springs in Colorado Springs, CO, and explore more about the Porsche Panoramic Roof with variable light control.

How does the Variable Light Control Work?

Available in all Porsche models and variants, the optional panoramic sunroof with Variable Light Control comes as matte white in default. Its matte-white state provides full shade inside, keeping the summer heat outside of your Porsche. But when the vehicle starts, the sunroof powers up, activating the last setting from the memory function.

The touch panel allows the driver to control this sunroof accordingly. You can set it to 100 percent transparent using the Clear mode. Or pick the intermediate stages of matte – Bold mode for 60 percent matte and Semi mode for 40 percent matte.

Moreover, you can use the slider function in the sunroof to shield the light from front to back like a roller shade. With immediate effect, the perceived and actual temperature at head height drops significantly despite the sunlight. In winter, the low-e coating on the underside of the roof eliminates the unpleasant layer of cold just below the glass. This technology is versatile and more effective than a roller shade, with energy consumption below 20 watts.
