Porsche Tests the Prototypes and Pre-Production of the New Cayenne

How Is Porsche Preparing the New Cayenne for Its Launch?

When you think of high-performance luxury vehicles, the Porsche brand will be at the forefront. Not only are Porsche vehicles aesthetically pleasing, but they also boast an exceptional driving experience. The Cayenne, offered as an SUV and Coupe, is one of the most popular models. Ever since its launch in 2017, Porsche has consistently enhanced the Cayenne. It has modified the Cayenne’s powertrain, chassis, design, equipment, and connectivity.

Meanwhile, series manager Michael Schätzle has asserted that the latest improvement in the Cayenne is “one of the most extensive product upgrades in the history of Porsche!” So, how is Porsche preparing the new Cayenne for its launch in spring? We give you the lowdown at Porsche Colorado Springs in Colorado Springs, CO!

What Are the Upgrades to the Cayenne?

Engineers at the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach, Germany, have significantly revised the Cayenne’s chassis system. They aimed to achieve more than the typical Porsche characteristics of superior on-road performance, long-distance comfort, and off-road capability. The new Cayenne will, therefore, feature a new semi-active chassis, an extensively digitalized display and operating system with fantastic connectivity features.

Complex and elaborate testing was undertaken to tune the components and technologies perfectly. As part of the endurance tests, the Cayenne completes well over 124,200 miles in urban traffic, on country roads, and on motorways within a few months. Additionally, the prototypes travel worldwide, with tests taking place in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America.
