Discover the Porsche 963 RSP: A Road-Legal Beast with Racing DNA
Racing history just hit the streets in the most thrilling way possible. Introducing the Porsche 963 RSP, a jaw-dropping, street-legal evolution of the Porsche brand’s legendary 963 Hypercar. Crafted to celebrate the spirit of the iconic 917 from 50 years ago, this one-off masterpiece has been turning heads near the Circuit de la Sarthe ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Born from a vision shared by Porsche Cars North America, Porsche Penske Motorsport, and motorsport legend Roger Penske himself, the 963 RSP combines raw racing pedigree with a striking road-ready presence. Penske’s initials even grace the car’s name, cementing his role in bringing this special project to life.
Racing soul, Road-Ready Style
Far from your average track car, the Porsche 963 RSP comes dressed in Martini Silver paint inspired by Count Rossi’s legendary 917, replacing the usual racing wrap with a triple-layer lacquer. Unique fender vents, 1970s-style Michelin logos, and an enamel Porsche badge add to its heritage feel. Even the rear wing saw modifications, removing carbon fiber blanking plates to better echo the original 917’s shape.
To legally cruise the streets, the 963 RSP gained front and rear license plate mounts, a raised ride height, softened Multimatic DSSV dampers, and road-friendly Michelin wet-weather tires on forged OZ racing wheels. Subtle touches like a horn, turn signals, and headlight adjustments transformed it from race beast to road rebel under special permission from French authorities.

Heritage-inspired cabin
Step inside, and you’ll find a cockpit unlike any other. Instead of a spartan racer’s interior, the Porsche 963 RSP wraps its single-piece carbon seat in soft tan leather and Alcantara, adding comfort without losing its racing edge. Even the steering wheel is finished in leather, and a 3D-printed cup holder is made just for a Porsche travel mug.
Inspired by the 917, designers added bespoke end plates to the air vents, while alloy plaques mark the car’s build details. A specially trimmed panel beside the driver neatly stores the Peltor headset and Roger Penske’s custom carbon helmet.

Power that Respects the Road
Under the hood, the 963 RSP keeps its hybrid V8 powertrain and lithium-ion battery in standard race tune but with tweaks for road use. Engineers re-mapped the power delivery for smoother everyday driving and tuned the engine to run on pump gas, blending real-world usability with relentless track-bred power.
