Enhancements of the Eighth Generation Porsche 911

Acceleration varies depending on a few factors. Looking at the standard setup, the new 911 Carrera Coupé races from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds. With the addition of the Sport Chrono package, that figure drops down to 3.8 seconds. In either case, that’s 0.2 seconds quicker than the outgoing model.
With the Cabriolet body style, the 911 can make the 0-to-60 leap in 4.2 seconds, dropping to 4.0 seconds with the Sport Chrono package. The 992 achieves a top track speed of 182 mph for the Carrera Coupé and 180 mph for the Carrera Cabriolet.
The 2020 Porche 911 is the first generation to do away with the narrow body. Every 992 now uses the wide-body style, which was previously reserved for all-wheel-drive models. The new body spreads 72.0-inches wide in the back, balancing out the figure with a wider front track and front fenders along with an enhanced steering ratio that’s up to 11% quicker. The wider stance also means improved grip and wider, larger-diameter wheels with 21-inch rear rims.
Porsche makes fierce strides toward interior comfort and convenience in the new generation. A new 11-inch touchscreen sits front and center, leaving behind the 7-inch screen found in the seventh-generation model. The new instrument cluster goes digital with two digitally rendered dials alongside the manual central tachometer. The cluster screens can be used to manage the model’s new set of driver-assistance features, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and blind-spot warning.
