Porsche collaborates with Pixar to develop a unique Porsche model inspired by the Porche 911 vehicle from Disney and Pixar, the Sally Carrera. Manufacturing of the Porsche 911 Sally Special
Being the first ever initiation by Porsche and Pixar to collaborate on a project, this project focused on producing the much-loved Porsche Sally Carrera for real. Pixar’s film, Cars feature Sally Carrera in a pivotal role in between human sentiments like friendship, love, and mutual support. This inspired Porsche to team up with Pixar to create the model for the streets, give it up for auction to RM Sotheby’s at its Monterey Sales, and contribute the earnings to two charity organizations, Girls Inc. and USA for UNHCR.
The project began in 2021 with the Porsche manufacturing team collaborating with Pixar’s original design team for the Cars movie, who created Sally Carrera based on the Porsche 911 Carrera twenty years ago and lasted for ten months.

Features of the Porche 911 Sally Special
Sally Special is built based on the Porsche 911 Carrera, which is stead-fast acceleration and high driver engagement. A new color option, Sally Blue Metallic, was used as the vehicle’s outer coating. Many of the changes were made by hand, focusing on intrinsic details, including Sally’s pinstripe tattoo, to make it look like Pixar’s Sally Carrera. The turbo wheels were explicitly redesigned for the Sally Special, with its five-spoke design modified to match the wheel diameter of the latest Porsche 911 wheels. The interior also has the Sally Blue Metallic theme with obvious highlights and other subtle elements.
